Holly Charlton BSc (Hons) - Group Operations Director

I am the Operations Director for the whole Practice. I qualified as an Event Manager from Portsmouth University in 2005 with First Class Honours and after a variety of other jobs worked for the British Small Animal Veterinary Association organising the exhibition at the annual BSAVA Congress which many of the team have attended over the years.

I bring a variety of skills, lots of enthusiasm and an extensive background knowledge of the veterinary industry to my role. I love that every day is different, and I am passionate about ensuring that the team have the tools and support, especially concerning their mental well-being, to carry out their roles in caring for your pets. In 2019, I was proud to become a Mental Health First Aider.

In my spare time, and around any major rugby matches (particularly if Wales are playing), my partner and I are converting a Welsh Chapel into a home for us.

Leigh G - Practice Administrator

I have worked at the Practice behind the scenes since 2000, trying to keep the finances in order but occasionally I do escape to Reception to have a chat with the clients.  Outside of work, I keep myself busy with my three dogs: Rosie, my sensitive English Pointer, Alfie, my scruffy terrier and Zeus, my English Pointer from Corfu.

I also hate having my picture taken so Cinch is modelling for me instead!

Penny J - Clinical Administrator

I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1986 and then had a stint of 9 years working as technical advisor for a well-known pet insurer. I brought this knowledge back to my current role as Insurance Administrator. I really enjoy helping our clients out with their insurance claims. I am also involved in the administration of our brilliant Pet Health Club.

I have two rescue cats Buddy and Binkie. All my spare time is taken up with my beloved pony, Owen. We enjoy regular trips to the beach and love going on fun rides in the summer.

Michelle L - Accounts Administrator

I have worked for Watkins and Tasker Veterinary Group since December 2017.  I job share with my colleague Leigh, dealing with the accounts and finances.  I have always worked in accounts and joined here after having my two children.  I also have a tortoiseshell cat called Jessie who loves attention, especially from the children. In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym, baking cakes and socialising with my family and friends.

Annette D - Practice Development Administrator

I joined Watkins & Tasker in May 2021, having been a client with the practice since 2017. I come from a mainly Customer Service and Administration background with First Aid Instructing thrown in too.

I am lucky enough to work at all 3 branches and my role is primarily providing administration support to Holly and Steve with a focus on developing the Practice and the team. When I am able to escape from behind the scenes, I enjoy helping out on Reception and meeting clients and their lovely pets.

Outside of work, my time is mainly taken up with our black Labrador, Edna who is well known at the Portishead branch for eating socks! I also enjoy horse riding and have recently got back into running.

Judi A - Reception Manager

I have been a client of Watkins and Tasker Vets since 2001 and joined the Reception team in January 2018. I have previously worked in administration for over 20 years and have brought lots of skills to my role as Reception Manager. I work at the Portishead and Yatton branches and love meeting the clients and their lovely pets. I have been known to try various sports including parachuting, horse archery and scuba. I married Nick in 1999, during an underwater ceremony. We share our lives with our dog, Topsy, our three cats, Boots, Bumble Bee and Pumpkin plus our gorgeous spotty horse Dustin.

Philippa D - Reception Team Leader (Nailsea)

I joined Watkins and Tasker Vets in September 2020 and I am based at the Nailsea Practice. I have experience working within the Veterinary Industry prior to this. I love working on Reception, meeting lots of our clients and their lovely pets. Animals have always been my greatest passion and I feel extremely lucky that I get to work with them every day. When I am not working, I spend my time helping out on my partners family farm, caring for my horse, Dante, my dog, Ronnie, and of course my two pet Kune Kune pigs, Primrose and Priscilla. When I have any spare time away from the animals, I spend it training and competing at my local CrossFit gym.

Kat H - Receptionist

I joined the team in October 2016 and I am based at our Portishead branch.  Taking on the role of Veterinary Receptionist was a massive career change for me having worked in Pensions for eleven years previously.  I love working with animals and especially enjoy all the cuddles with the lovely pets who visit.  In my spare time I love spending time my with family and friends, keeping fit and snuggling up at home with my two cats, Bella and Simba.

Rebecca (Bex) M - Receptionist

Since July 2017, I have worked as Veterinary Receptionist for Watkins and Tasker Vets.

I love greeting clients and their lovely pets and being part of such a great team of people.

Outside of work, I enjoy fitness and challenge myself with competitions such as Tough Mudder. Sadly, I do not currently have any pets of my own, but I look forward to extending my family with a dog one day. In the meantime, I am kept extremely busy with my young twins who certainly keep me on my feet.

Trudi H - Receptionist

I joined the Watkins and Tasker Vet team in August 2015, having been a client with our cat since 2009. In my role as Receptionist, I work at the Nailsea and Yatton Practices.  I love the chance to meet both clients and animals alike and welcome them to the Practices.

In my spare time, you can usually find me taking photographs, enjoying a walk in the country or by the coast.

Claire C - Receptionist

I have been working at Watkins and Tasker Vets since 2012. I have always had a passion for animals and find working with our clients and their pets so rewarding. While it keeps me busy, I enjoy that no day is ever the same.

In my spare time, I enjoy riding and competing my Irish Sport horse, Matty, and spending time with my family.

Jamie-Lee M - Receptionist

I started working for Watkins & Tasker Vets in 2019 and love being part of the team caring for your pets. I thoroughly enjoy being front of house and having the opportunity to meet new people and their pets every day. As I have four dogs and three cats of my own, I am a true animal lover and relish spending my time with animals. My passion is the welfare and rescue of animals and dream of having my own rescue sanctuary one day.

Mischa P - Receptionist

I started work at Watkins & Tasker Vets in 2016. I love building relationships with both clients and patients and really enjoy supervising social visits (for nervous dogs) and undertaking Puppy Academy at our Yatton Practice. My main interest is in Canine Behaviour and I hope to work towards various qualifications in the future. My hobbies are based around my dogs, specifically training my three-year old Australian Kelpie, Cinch. I also love having adventures with her and my Rottweiler mix, Zola.

Sophie C - Receptionist

I started working for Watkins and Tasker Vets in November 2020.  As a receptionist at the Nailsea Practice, I love meeting clients and their pets. I have always had a huge passion for animals and enjoy assisting people to find solutions or keep them smiling so I love my role here.  In my spare time I enjoy horse riding and spending time with my dog, Boomer.

Mel O - Receptionist

Although I have been a client of Watkins & Tasker Vets for years, I joined the team in February 2020. My career to date has been in property management and while I have not worked with animals previously I am looking forward to getting to know our clients and all of your pets.

We have always been a family with many pets, whereas most people are either 'a dog or cat person' I can honestly say that I am both! My dogs Pepper and Maggie are ruled over by my elderly cat Peanut. Outside of work, I enjoy a busy family life, keeping fit, walking the dogs and taking regular trips to Cornwall.

Ashleigh A - Receptionist (& Trainee Vet)

Since June 2018, I have worked across all three practices of Watkins and Tasker Vets. I grew up in North Somerset and enjoy being back home, after spending three years in North Wales studying Medical Science which was necessary to get me onto the training for my dream career. In 2019 I started my course in Veterinary Medicine at Bristol University and during my studies I will still be seen around the Practices undertaking placements or working on reception. I am looking forward to continuing to meet all the lovely clients and their pets. Outside of work, I enjoy going horse riding or walking with my Golden Retriever, Jenson and Chihuahua, Bobbi especially in Cornwall.

Jessica W - Receptionist

I joined Watkins & Tasker Vets in April 2021 and have come straight from doing the same job up north in Cumbria. I love working with animals, especially dogs, and the cuddles are the absolute highlight of every day. I also enjoy meeting and assisting all the pet owners. In my spare time, I love riding and I am getting to know Bristol after moving for this role.
